Process Numerical Simulation to Serve Antivibratory Composite Part (DYNAFIB)
The weight reduction of automotive parts is a priority for the development of new vehicles. The use of continuous composite inserts over molded by reinforced thermoplastics is one of the ways to reach the mass reduction asked. This strategy has been deployed to the final part of the DYNAFIB project. The use of process simulation / product has allowed the project team to quickly develop a composite torque rod and engine mount with similar mechanical properties to the metal part while reducing the weight of 50% from aluminum’s part. This development has been materialized by a prototype that was used for correlation. |
