Moving Pin Simulation and Tool Deflection

 

 
  • This study focuses on the molding process of a rear spoiler tool equipped with pressure and position sensors. Several conditions have been tested measuring the tool bending and studying correlations between settings and measured data to prove if traditional boundary condition are still reliable and which effect implies a change to those conditions.  The test have been then replicated using different simulation models and finally compared to the real measurement to validate the correlations between cavity pressure, tool bending and part quality.
  • Finally, the Flexflow controlled valve pin movement has been applied and simulated in order to better understand how it affects the tool bending and how to control it in order to reduce the total tool bending and improve part quality.
