PU in-mold coating enables manufacturers of plastic parts to apply a coating during the injection molding process. Such PU based coatings are extremely wear resistant, UV stable and have great chemical stability.
The coatings lead to perfect surface characteristics and enable the designer to combine high gloss surfaces and textures in the same part. Coatings can be applied to mask surface defects, can be crystal clear or colored and can cover structured surfaces such as carbon fiber designs with a clear layer to increase the depth of image. Also decorative film can be placed between substrate and coating.
