Warpage in plastics molding is a dilemma that companies are constantly battling with to hit tolerances, properly assemble different components and assure quality satisfaction for the customer.
Many times, part designers in the early stages of product development are tasked with determining whether a part is going to hit a set of quality criteria on a consistent basis. The tools in simulation allow us to run a comprehensive analysis to predict the warpage of a plastic part, but the numerical simulation outputs are only as good as the inputs, which may be in short supply in the early design stages.
We will talk in this webinar about the assumptions in Moldex3D for warpage, and how to run a warpage simulation properly before a cooling system has been designed.
- How is Warpage impacted by the cooling system?
- What assumptions are made when a cooling system is NOT included in warpage analysis?
- How to implement a cooling situation in Moldex3D when a full design is not available.
