The major challenge that the PIM industry (MIM—metal injection molding; CIM—ceramic injection molding; and CCIM— cemented carbide injection molding) faces is black lines, caused by phase separation of powder and binder, namely, non-uniform powder concentration. Black lines will decrease aesthetic appeal and product quality. Moldex3D can visualize the shear rate distribution and powder concentration to avoid black lines before manufacturing.
