Many times the problem when running analysis is not how well you set up the model or how accurate the solver is. It’s not knowing truly why you are running the analysis. The analyst can be two to three levels apart from the person or group that has all the requirements for the project. You may end up running multiple simulations only to fund out it doesn’t apply to their concerns.

Why are you running an analysis? Understanding the application. Who has the most to gain or lose by your analysis results?  Asking the right questions upfront and during the process.  Reading, understanding, and communicating your analysis results that are directly applicable to your customer needs.  Identifying conditions that can potentially produce problems that were not originally considered.
