The optical properties of a molded part are crucial to its performance both visually in terms of warpage, but also in terms of the ability to use the part in optical applications. From car lights keeping us safe on the roads, to microscope lenses advancing our perception of small organisms, to a giant windowpane grabbing your attention in a mall, any part being used for its ability to divert light can being simulated using Moldex3D’s Optics Module. After the warpage data is obtained, the Optics module will take the internal stresses to give a fringed pattern and birefringence information, which can give a good comparison to a part shown through polarized light.
What Attendees Will Learn?
- Best Practices for setting up and running an Optics analysis
- What results come from an optics analysis and how do those correlate to a molded part?
- How can the optical properties be manipulated (gate location, overflow, material, runner layout, etc.)?
