Join Moldex3D’s Presentation at SPE Automotive TPO Conference

We’re excited to announce that we will be speaking at the SPE TPO Automotive Engineered Polyolefins Conference, held at at the Detroit Marriott Troy, from October 1-4, 2017.

Srikar Vallury, Engineering Manager at Moldex3D North America will be speaking on “Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Tiger Stripes in an Injection Molded Part.” In this session, we will discuss how to leverage simulation to predict tiger stripe phenomenon in the injection molding of TPO material. Click here to check out the full agenda.

Moldex3D’s Speaking Session

  • Title: Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Tiger Stripes in an Injection Molded Part
  • Date: Wednesday, October 4, 2017
  • Time: 8:00 am
  • Room: Conference Hall 1
Tiger stripe phenomenon in the injection molding of TPO material was analyzed through a series of experiments and simulations with Moldex3D. Taguchi based Design of Experiments (DOE) was conducted to study the factors contributing to the tiger stripe effect in 2 geometries: a simple spiral mold and a real part. By considering the viscoelastic behavior of the polymer melt, simulation results from Moldex3D show a strong correlation between the stress distribution in the part and the tiger stripes observed in the experiment.

About SPE TPO Automotive Engineered Polyolefins Conference

The SPE TPO Automotive Engineered Polyolefins Conference typically draws over 800 attendees from 20 countries on 4 continents who are vitally interested in learning about the latest in rigid and elastomeric TPO as well as TPE and TPV technologies. Fully a third of conference attendees work for a transportation OEM, and nearly 20% work for a tier integrator. Few conferences of any size can provide this type of networking opportunity or put you before such an engaged, global audience interested in hearing the latest olefin advances.
